He is a Special Education Teacher, an author, and a motivational speaker.He has just written a book entitled, "Second Life, Second Chance: A Teacher's Chronicle of Despair, Recovery and Triumph." I was a bit surprised and touched in getting an e-mail from someone around on the opposite side of the world who I didn't know and who was a fellow Traumatic Brain Injury person. He was offering a book he wanted to send me free of cost with the option of doing a book review. I had a sense of this being a profound moment. Within a month the book arrived all the way from Canada to myself in Australia in a padded postal envelope. If he can survive and come through to where he is, anyone can come through.

Portable Document Files: Sending attached files to other people by e-mail: the problem is that they take a lot of space .... especially if they have pictures in the files. The solution is to convert files to a Portable Document Format ('PDF') using special software like Adobe Acrobat. This reduces the file down to a very small size. However Adobe Acrobat costs in the vicinity of A$660.00. An alternative is to use free software which does the same thing. See the website at: http://www.pdf995.com/ .... download the program and go through the install procedure which should offer the PDF alternative in your printer icon .... works wonderfully. Use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to read 'PDF ' files.

Here are some tips on reducing the size of photos ....

Load the photos from your camera into a labelled file on our computer. Using ‘Shift’ on the keyboard .... highlight all the photos from beginning to the end and using the mouse, right click and go to: ‘Send To’ .... ‘Mail Recipient’ and send the photos to your e-mail program.

Immediately it will say: ‘Windows can resize the pictures you sending to e-mail so that they transfer faster and easier to view by the recipient. What do you want to do? .... Make my pictures smaller .... OK / Cancel >>>> Send to e-mail program.

In a half a minute, an e-mail with all your photos will come back to you at a 10% size or less ..... very small compared the original ones.

Using the ‘Shift’ key again .... highlight all the photos from beginning to the end in the e-mail and using the mouse, lay them over the highlighted original photos. They will either replace the original photos or create an alternative assortment underneath as IMG_0070(2)jpg. Then delete all the original photos and you will be left with the reduced photos.

Use these in e-mails by going into ‘Edit’ then ‘Select All’ the copy all ..... then copy them straight into the text of the e-mail or Word document.

An injury to the head is always a serious matter as it could lead to all sorts of complications, what feels like a normal headache could be something else. If you or someone you know suffers a head injury they should be checked by a professional as soon as possible. If it a industrial accident then inform your boss of the incident and ask if you can leave for treatment.
